Among many of our custom mold creating methods, fiber glass molds prove to be very durable, light weight and versatile. Fiber glass molds are built up in layers, giving you the ability to choose how thick and tough the mold is verses the amount of materiel consumed.
The molds are made by applying a number of painted or sprayed layers of fiber glass resin (polyester resin based, also used in the automotive industry) and then applying sheets or netted meshes of fiber glass.

As each layer dries, the process is repeated as many times as necessary. This method of mold making is very useful in historical restoration, using a positive model or shape to create the mold from allowing nearly infinite clones to be cast from many different materials.

These pictures show a spherical  pier cap (made on our hotwire foam cutting machine) that was coated -
-and sanded for a perfect finish. The finished mold (right) allows us to recreate the shape in cement, G.F.R.C. or many other cast materials. The color options are also very extensive.
