One of the more common mold making methods, and frequently used by Custom Foam And Precast, is the user friendly and flexible system of two part chemical rubber molds.
Rubber molds are predominately used in historic restoration. Statues and forms high in detail can be easily duplicated by simply pouring a two part rubber chemical over their face and then set to dry.

Here at Custom Foam And Precast, we often create positive models high in detail and definition using our hotwire foam cutting machine, and then mass produce the items by creating our own rubber molds.
Inward details (such as the nostril in a statue’s face) can’t release from any mold made from foam or fiber glass, as the mold material would be extended into the casting material. Using rubber molds for such designs, assures that the mold will release cleanly from the cast model, leaving both the mold and the model in perfect form.

Our ability to create custom rubber molds gives us the advantage of having unlimited possibilities in the field. Every detail, every curve and every angle is left unaltered in the replicas providing flawless recreations, over and over again, without fail.
Rubber molds are nearly life lasting, and Custom Foam And Precast has many different rubber molds in various designs and shapes already on hand in our inventory. We might just have the perfect mold to fit your project. Otherwise, foam molds (temporary molds) can be made very quickly and efficiently. Any mold from several materials can be made custom in our shop. Feel free to contact us with any questions or to set up a design meeting.
